September 24, 2024 — A Nissan Rogue class action lawsuit alleges that 2021-2023 Nissan Rogue models have odors inside the vehicle due to a defective positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) system. The Nissan class action lawsuit alleges that the Rogue SUV is equipped with a 1.5-liter 3-cylinder variable compression turbo (VC-Turbo) engine. Occupants claimed that the smell of gasoline made them sick when the fuel seeped into the rubber components. The Nissan Rogue owner further claimed that the dealer did nothing about the gasoline odor complaint, but the technician allegedly acknowledged that there was a problem. Supposedly, even the occupants' clothes smelled like the gas from their recent ride in the Rogue, and once the Nissan Rogue was shut down and parked, the smell was apparently quite horrific. The logistics industry achieved positive growth for the first time in two years.
The Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA), the leading organization representing transportation intermediaries in domestic and international trade, has released its Q2 2024 Third-Party Logistics Market Report, marking the first time in eight quarters that the logistics industry has experienced positive growth. The report shows that total shipments in the second quarter of 2024 increased by 5% from the first quarter of 2024 and increased by 3.5% year-on-year. Total revenue also increased by 5.6% from the previous quarter, and the invoice amount per shipment increased by 0.6%. Federal investigation ends Toyota RAV4 battery recall
The fire occurred under the hood of 2013 to 2018 Toyota RAV4 vehicles, where the battery is located. August 19, 2024 — The investigation into Toyota RAV4 battery fires has concluded based on the fix Toyota has implemented for the 12-volt battery problem. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration opened a federal RAV4 investigation in February 2021 after receiving reports of 11 engine compartment fires in 2013 to 2018 Toyota RAV4 SUVs. The fire appeared to be caused by the 12-volt battery, and NHTSA suspected an electrical short between the 12V battery's B+ terminal and the frame that holds the battery. Seven RAV4s caught fire while being driven and four caught fire while parked. However, none of the fires were related to the original 12-volt RAV4 battery.
