Kia is recalling 1,400 2025 Sorento plug-in hybrid vehicles. December 18, 2024 — Kia is recalling 2025 Sorento plug-in hybrid electric vehicles because the steering rack could damage fuel lines in a crash impact. This could cause fuel leaks and fires in the 1,400 recalled vehicles. Kia discovered the problem during frontal crash testing of the 2026 Sorento. “While testing a Sorento plug-in hybrid (PHEV) equipped with Rack-Mounted Motor Driven Power Steering (R-MDPS), the subframe shifted, causing the steering rack to contact and damage the fuel line, resulting in Fuel leak." — hurry up Once the recall letter is mailed out on January 10, 2025, Kia dealers will install caps around the fuel lines.
