December 24, 2024 — The Jeep backup camera recall affects more than 86,000 2024 Jeep Wagoneer, Jeep Grand Wagoneer, Jeep Grand Cherokee and Jeep Grand Cherokee L vehicles. Like many recalls in 2024, this one is caused by a software issue, specifically with the Jeep backup camera module. The issue caused the rearview camera image to malfunction. In July, engineers noticed a fault with the rearview camera on the Jeep. In addition to making it more difficult for drivers to reverse, the camera malfunction violates federal safety standards. Maserati said about 1,700 cars will need a software update to keep the rearview cameras working properly. December 3, 2024 — Maserati is recalling 2023-2024 Grecale and 2024 GranTurismo vehicles due to a rearview camera issue. More than 1,700 vehicles are being recalled because a bug in the central vision parking assist module software may cause the rearview camera image to fail. Ford F-250, F-350 and F-450 recalled due to camera issues
Ford is recalling 30,000 trucks equipped with overhead rearview cameras that may be affected by water. November 4, 2024 — Ford truck tailgate camera issues have led to a recall of 2023-2024 Ford F-250, F-350 and F-450 trucks. The recall involves 30,000 trucks. Water may enter the tailgate parking assist sensor interface module, causing the rearview camera image to appear part of the time or possibly appear blue or black. In February, a supplier noticed a black screen on the top of the tailgate camera. Engineers investigated and determined that water may have entered the interface between the connector for the camera on top of the tailgate and the mating connector interface seal on the coaxial cable. Honda Infotainment lawsuit alleges loudspeaker crackling sound
The Honda Pilot, Honda Passport, Honda Passport and Honda Odyssey are said to be defective. October 13, 2024 — Honda speaker popping sparks Ohio infotainment class action lawsuit that includes: “Purchase or lease of any 2020-2022 Honda Pilot (except LX), 2020 Honda Passport (except Sport), 2021-2022 Honda Passport and 2020-2022 Honda Odyssey (except LX) vehicles in the following areas All persons or entities in Ohio.” Jennifer and Sean Fausto purchased a new 2020 Honda Pilot Touring in August 2020, which they still own.
