An Electric Restomod That Actually Makes Sense
Electric restoration that really makes sense

Evice's 400-horsepower electric Rolls-Royce model features a 77 kWh battery pack and dual electric motors go through Brad Anderson 13 hours ago Evice is working on electrifying the Rolls-Royce Corniche and Silver Shadow. Both models produce 400 horsepower per charge and have a range of more than 200 miles. First customer deliveries are expected to begin in spring 2026. Turning a classic sports car into an electric car is like turning a samurai sword into a butter knife - sure, it works, but it kind of misses the point. On the other hand, taking a luxury barge like the Rolls-Royce Corniche or Silver Shadow and giving it an all-electric rebirth? Now, even purists might be left behind. British company Evice has branched out into the world of electric restoration, and their work on these classic rollers is impressive. While other projects might prioritize flashy gimmicks or Tesla-like acceleration, Evice's approach feels refreshing and thoughtful. Their first prototype was called the…

It is alleged that the EcoBoost engine's oil pump was defective, causing the 1-liter engine to malfunction. SSM 48093 was issued for 2018-2019 Ford EcoSport vehicles equipped with EcoBoost engines, which “may experience a loss of engine oil pressure with an illuminated oil pressure…

Restoring a car in memory of a loved one
Restoring a car in memory of a loved one

Cars are cultural relics Nostalgia, core memories and strong connections with family. How many of us can relate to the way a particular car reminds us of a loved one who is no longer with us? I recently had the privilege of purchasing, restoring, and showing a special car for a friend that his mother drove ten years ago. Here's a 23-minute YouTube video documenting the entire process. It's hard to describe how rewarding this project was. Granted, the Acura TSX is hardly what most people would consider a "collector car." But the story behind it made it all worth the effort, and more. This isn't my first TSX restoration. Some readers may remember the Arctic Blue 2006 6-speed I restored last year. Although it was sun faded on the outside, the car was in very good mechanical condition for its age and looked beautiful after the restoration. I sold it to a collector in North Carolina in September. TSX…

This photo is of my 1973 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow, taken on Route 66 in Oklahoma. The car was originally purchased by Vogue magazine in London and brought to the United States in 1984 by a banker from Ada, Oklahoma. His estate sold it to an exotic car dealer in Kansas City, where I purchased it in 2014. She is Caribbean Blue with a tan leather interior and has only 67,000 miles on it. She has won several car shows and has been featured in Rolls Royce and Bentley Owners Magazines twice. I named her "Queen Leeds II" because people kept asking me her name so I thought it was appropriate considering her British Royal lineage. The Rolls-Royce is an incredible car and very complex. It has an integrated brake/suspension hydraulic system which was quite revolutionary at the time. My particular model also has a leather sunroof which is very rare. In fact, she drives and rides like she is on…

Father and Son Malibu | Classic Car Restoration Club

I raced cars legally and illegally in the NY/NJ area as a kid. I made some money on the track and won quite a few trophies. About 13 years ago, my young son asked me about racing and the muscle car era I grew up in, and asked me if we could find something to build together. Naturally, I said yes! We found a 1981 Malibu 2 door coupe that someone had converted from a 6 cylinder to an 8 cylinder, but the car was a mess! Cracked body, torn interior, rust, dents and dents. So we bought it! Thank God my friend had a garage that we could use and a friend who was a custom painter. Anyway, we started disassembling the car mechanically and cosmetically and began replacing parts, built a 383 stroker small block, swapped the rear axle for a Ford 9-inch and put 4.10 rear gears in it, beefed up the 350 automatic and installed a…

I purchased my first car, a 1966 Pontiac GTO, in May of 1968 and have never left it. After enjoying the car for many years, I underwent a frame-off restoration that was completed in 2016. The car originally came from the factory with a 389 cubic inch engine and 4-barrel carburetor, but has now been upgraded to the factory Tri-Power setup and factory front disc brakes that were in line with the standards of the time. I drive my GTO once a week. Oh! Yeah! My wife was also born in 1969 and I still own both cars. Bob Peterson

2023 Ventura National Championships | Classic Car Restoration Club

Last month, the Ventura National Auto Show was held at the Ventura County Fairgrounds over Labor Day weekend. Since 2003, it has been one of the largest and most exciting car shows on the West Coast, encompassing all aspects of car culture, including hot rods, custom paint jobs, restorations, live music and vendors. The Ventura National covers more than 62 acres and is packed with classic cars and vintage trucks, while local restoration shops and vendors display their latest creations and apparel beneath the palm-lined main street of the fairgrounds. The highlight of the Nationals is always the diversity of cars and trucks on display. Whether you prefer a professional restoration to period perfection, a DIY restoration at home, or any level of customization in between, the Ventura Nationals has something for you, and the builders will be parked somewhere nearby, excitedly talking about their build process. One interesting trend we noticed this year was the increased use of factory…

It had been in a head-on collision, but luckily it had a donor car that provided the missing parts. That's where Jay started, and it took him a decade and a careful planning process to get Plymouth back on the road. Jay is no stranger…
