Triumph recently added an affordable 400cc motorcycle, the Speed T4, to its lineup. The company also launched an updated version of the Speed 400 with all-new colour options and features. Both the motorcycles look almost identical with some minor differences. The Speed T4 is priced at Rs 2.17 lakh, while the new Speed 400 starts at Rs 2.4 lakh (ex-showroom). Triumph Motorcycles has launched the updated version of the Speed 400 in India. Priced at Rs 2.4 lakh ex-showroom, the updated Speed 400 comes in new colour options and some minor upgrades to enhance the riding experience. This makes it around Rs 15,000 more expensive than its predecessor (which was priced at Rs 2.35 lakh ex-showroom). While the outgoing Triumph Speed 400 was available in three colour options (Carnival Red/Phantom Black, Caspian Blue/Storm Grey and Phantom Black/Storm Grey), the newly launched Speed 400 is available in four new colours: Racing Yellow, Pearl Metallic White, Phantom Black and Racing Red. Apart from the new colours, the updated Triumph Speed 400 also gets 5-speed adjustable levers (front brake and clutch) and high-profile 17-inch radial tyres by Vredestein - 110/80 at the front and 150/70 at the rear. Triumph Motorcycles has released a new teaser to announce the launch of a new modern classic model in India on September 17. Although it is yet to be confirmed, British motorcycle manufacturer Triumph could be preparing a new model that will be powered by the same engine as the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X. According to the teaser, the new model is painted in red and grey with silver badges on the side panels and the Triumph logo on the fuel tank, which suggests that the upcoming model could be based on the Speed 400. Triumph Speed 400, Scrambler 400 X discount of Rs 10,000
Earlier in July 2024, Triumph Motorcycles announced a limited-time discount of Rs 10,000 on the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X. The move was to celebrate the company's milestone of selling more than 50,000 units of the motorcycles within a year of their launch. Due to the favorable response from customers, the offer (originally valid till July 31) has now been extended till August 31, 2024. While Triumph gave the above reasons, the decision to extend the discount period could be to offset the impact of the launch of the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450, a competitor to the Triumph Speed 400. The Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X are currently priced at Rs 2.24 lakh and Rs 2.54 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively.
