The Australian government has commissioned an independent review of the Australian Design Rules (ADR) after carmakers criticized them as being too cumbersome. It has hired Dr Warren Mundy to conduct a review that will look at ways to improve the process of approving vehicles for sale in Australia. ADRs are national regulations that vehicles must comply with when sold here, covering everything from lighting to seat belts and crash protection. This is not the first independent review by Dr Mundy, who earlier this year released his findings into the National Legal Aid Partnership (NLAP).
