Tata Motors has reported a decline in passenger vehicle sales in July 2024. The company sold 44,954 passenger vehicles last month, down from 47,689 units in 2023. This means that the automaker's sales fell by 6%. The data includes domestic and international sales figures of ICE and electric vehicles. Further, the automaker announced that it sold 44,725 vehicles in the domestic PV market in India last month, which is 6% lower than 47,628 units in the same period last year. However, the automaker's exports increased significantly from 61 units in the same period last year to 229 units in July this year. This means that the brand's PV exports have increased by 275%. The Curvv will be Tata's first model to be powered by a 1.2-litre direct-injection turbocharged petrol engine that produces 123bhp and 225Nm of torque. Tata Motors has released a new teaser confirming that its upcoming Curvv Coupe SUV will be powered by a new 1.2-litre direct injection turbocharged petrol engine. Called the Hyperion, the engine is a three-cylinder unit that features an all-aluminium construction and is lighter than the 1.2-litre Revotron turbo petrol engine. It features variable valve timing technology, a variable oil pump and an integrated exhaust manifold in the cylinder head, and a water-cooled variable geometry turbocharger for better low-end torque. Compared to the Revotron turbo-petrol engine, the Hyperion produces 123bhp at 5,000rpm and 225Nm of peak torque between 1,700rpm and 3,500rpm.
