Volkswagen launches Tharu XR SUV
The Volkswagen Taigun has been an important model for the German automaker in India, helping to revive its sales. Built on the MQB-A0-IN platform, which it shares with the Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Kushaq and Skoda Slavia, the Taigun has made a strong impact. Recently, Volkswagen launched another SUV in China, the Tharu XR, which is based on a stretched version of the same platform. The Tharu XR is 134 mm longer than the Taigun. Despite the increase in length, the Tharu XR has the same wheelbase as the Taigun, with the extra length coming from longer overhangs. A new bumper gives it a fresh and timeless look compared to the Taigun. At the front, it gets a slim grille with an integrated LED light bar flanked by sleek LED headlights.
