Ford recalls 2024 Explorer hybrid due to fire risk
Ford is recalling about 60 Explorer Hybrid vehicles equipped with the 3.3-liter hybrid engine. September 25, 2024 — Ford has recalled approximately 60 2024 Explorer Hybrid vehicles equipped with the 3.3L hybrid engine. Ford says the 12-volt battery cable may rub against the belt-integrated starter generator and cause a short circuit. After the recall letter is mailed on October 21, 2024, Ford dealers will install zip ties between the battery cables and the high-voltage cables. Ford Explorer Hybrid owners can call 866-436-7332 and ask for recall number 24S61.
Ford F-650 and F-750 recalled over tie rod issue
The ball studs in Ford Super Duty trucks were not properly heat treated. July 5, 2024 — Ford is recalling more than 2,600 F-650 and F-750 Super Duty trucks because tie rods could break and cause the driver to lose control. The recalled 2025 Ford F-650 and F-750 trucks are equipped with front axle tie rod assemblies that may contain improperly heat-treated ball studs. This may cause the tie rod to break. According to Ford's recall documents: "The front axle of the affected vehicles may have improperly heat treated tie rod ball studs that may crack and break. Failure of the tie rod ball studs may cause the front axle tie rod to disconnect from the steering knuckle and the passenger side wheel may become disconnected from the steering system."
