Toyota door lock actuator problem sparks lawsuit
Allegedly, the Toyota door lock actuator recall should have been issued a long time ago. December 2, 2024 — Toyota door lock actuator problems have sparked a class-action lawsuit that includes these models. 2010–2024 Toyota 4Runner 2013-Present Toyota RAV4 2014-Present Toyota Highlander 2010-2022 Toyota Prius 2007 to present Toyota Tundra 2012–2024 Toyota Camry 2012–2024 Toyota Camry Hybrid 2014-Present Toyota Corolla 2005–2023 Toyota Tacoma 2007–2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser The door lock actuator allegedly stopped working, resulting in an inability to lock or unlock the doors when using the key fob or interior power door locks. Texas plaintiff Paul Flick purchased a used 2012 Toyota 4Runner in 2015, but he said Toyota did not warn him about the alleged door lock actuator problem. In 2020, the plaintiff noticed that when he tried to lock and unlock the doors using the key fob, the front driver's side door lock would not lock and unlock automatically. Lawsuit says Toyota door lock actuators need recall
The class action lawsuit states that Toyota's popular models are allegedly equipped with defective door lock actuators. November 18, 2024 — A class-action lawsuit says Toyota should recall the door lock actuators on these vehicles. 2010–2024 Toyota 4Runner 2013-Present Toyota RAV4 2014-Present Toyota Highlander 2010-2022 Toyota Prius 2007 to present Toyota Tundra 2012–2024 Toyota Camry 2012–2024 Toyota Camry Hybrid 2014-Present Toyota Corolla 2005–2023 Toyota Tacoma 2007–2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser The lawsuit alleges that the recall is necessary because a malfunctioning door lock actuator prevents the vehicle doors from being locked or unlocked using the key fob, power door locks, or interior door panels. Japan's Aisin Corporation produces door lock actuators installed on Toyota vehicles. Toyota was said to have been "aware of the door lock actuator problems for a long time" but failed to warn customers about the problems. The eight owners who filed the lawsuit claim that all Toyota vehicles were defective when they rolled off the assembly line.…

Toyota Tacoma T-SB-0094-24 now includes transmission, torque converter and hybrid modules. November 1, 2024 — Toyota Tacoma Transmission Replacement Technical Service Bulletin T-SB-0094-24 covers 2024 Toyota Tacoma hybrid trucks, the latest TSB cancels T-SB-0076- which only included non-hybrid Tacoma trucks twenty four. According to Toyota, T-SB-0094-24 covers the 2024 Toyota Tacoma and 2024 Tacoma Hybrid trucks, with free replacement of the automatic transmission assembly, torque converter and hybrid module. Replacement parts in the United States are covered by a 60-month or 60,000-mile powertrain warranty.
