If you have submitted 2024 display data for the TSE Quarterly Dashboard, the TSE research team will confirm the data with you so it can be considered for inclusion in the Gold 100 and Fastest 50. Santa Barbara, California — 15day The annual Trade Show Executive (TSE) Gold 100 Awards and Summit celebrated the largest trade show of 2023 over a week at the Ritz-Carlton Bacara in sunny Santa Barbara. Approximately 200 show organizers and vendors spent time networking, learning from other leaders at the Education Summit and enjoying experiential events while celebrating the Gold 100 winners and Grand Prize recipients at the Gold 100 Awards Gala. FWLE 2024 Women’s Leadership Conference Review TSE
LAS VEGAS – The Foundation for Women’s Leadership and Empowerment (FWLE) hosted its annual Women’s Leadership Conference at the MGM Grand Convention Center in Las Vegas on September 4 and 5. The conference, themed “Ourselves,” provided an immersive and interactive learning experience for attendees to share insights, participate in workshops, and network with other women leaders. Education at the event is also divided into three tracks: Emerging Leaders (Foundations), Emerging Executives (Growth), and Executives (Capabilities). These tracks not only help attendees attend educational sessions that are most relevant to their organizational level, but also provide attendees with a network of peers with whom they can discuss common challenges. CHICAGO — Trade Show Executive The October 2024 Pardon Our Dust report details 14 venues that are under construction and 25 projects currently underway. Additions to major exhibition space are the focus of those venues that have broken ground, as 882,619 square feet (sf) are planned, while 533,254 sf of meeting space and 346,440 sf of flex space are also in the plans for these additions. Looking ahead to 2025, the Dayton Convention Center in Ohio will open its expanded facility in the first quarter. The expanded space will include 35,000 square feet of meeting space and 18,000 square feet of flexible space. This spring, the Gaylord Pacific Resort & Casino in Chula Vista, California, plans to open, offering 140,049 square feet of prime exhibit space, 52,302 square feet of meeting space, and a 4.25-acre water park. TSE Exclusive: Alan Steele to receive first “Zero” honor
NEW YORK – The Sustainable Events Summit (SES) has announced that it will present the first ever Sustainability Excellence and Innovation Award to Alan Steele, CEO of the Javits Center. The award recognizes outstanding achievements and contributions to sustainability in events and venues. Since Steele began serving as president of the Javits Center in 2012, he has spearheaded several innovative sustainability initiatives, including the creation of a wildlife sanctuary, the addition of a greenhouse to the convention center, and a one-acre rooftop farm that will produce food for the venue’s banquet operations. He oversaw the 1.2 million square foot expansion and renovation of the entire building, which upgraded infrastructure, including switching to bird-friendly glass, which effectively reduced bird strikes by approximately 95%. “My favorite project was working on the design and construction of North Javits, a 1.2 million square foot expansion that is LEED Gold certified and due to be completed in 2021,” Steele said. “We already have a seven-acre…
