Kia EV6 ICCU recalled for second time
The Kia EV6 all-electric vehicle may lose power due to a drained 12-volt battery. November 27, 2024 — Kia EV6 ICCU has announced a recall for more than 74,000 electric vehicles that may lose driving power due to a depleted 12-volt battery. The recall of 2022-2024 Kia EV6 vehicles is necessary because these vehicles are equipped with an integrated charge control unit (ICCU) that can become damaged and stop charging the 12V battery. It's an ongoing problem for Kia, with ICCU issuing a recall on the same vehicles in March. Owners who have previously repaired their EV6 vehicles will need to have them repaired again. Kia says the ICCU can be damaged by "transient high voltages and thermal cycling." The 12-volt battery will gradually discharge and if the driver ignores the warning, the EV6 will stop moving forward. These warnings include a warning tone and one or more of the following: "'Check EV System' warning light, main warning light, charging…

Suspect flees elite police unit in Dodge Durango SRT
A suspect fleeing from police may not know exactly who he is running from. It turns out that the state of Georgia has an elite high-speed task force, and they hunted down the Durango. Before police were able to stop him, the Durango driver crashed the SUV. Trying to evade the police is never a good thing, but some people succeed. Most, though, struggle to get very far. In some cases, it’s because they picked the wrong car. In other cases, it’s because they can’t control the momentum they have. That appears to be the case with a chase that took place in Georgia on July 20. var adpushup = window.adpushup = window.adpushup || {que:()}; adpushup.que.push(function() { if (adpushup.config.platform !== "DESKTOP"){ adpushup.triggerAd("4d84e4c9 -9937-4f84-82c0-c94544ee6f2a"); } else{ adpushup.triggerAd("6a782b01-facb-45f3-a88f-ddf1b1f97657"); } }); Clayton County, just south of Atlanta, is home to the Black Hawk police unit, a unit that specializes in catching speeders. On July 20, the unit apparently spotted a suspect traveling at…
Ram 1500 electric power steering issues lead to lawsuit
The electric power steering controls in 2013-2024 Ram 1500 trucks are said to be faulty. September 14, 2024 — Ram 1500 electric power steering issues sparked a class-action lawsuit from two Ram truck owners. The power steering systems on some Ram 1500 trucks have been recalled, and the federal government has launched an investigation in 2023. But the plaintiffs claim Fiat Chrysler concealed the steering problems from customers for a long time. The Ram 1500 Class Action Lawsuit includes: "Any person or entity that purchased or leased a 2013 to 2024 Ram 1500 vehicle from an authorized FCA dealer in the United States." The plaintiffs claim the electric steering failed without warning, leaving drivers without power steering assistance. The Ram 1500 trucks do not lose steering control, but without power steering, drivers will have to use more force to turn the steering wheel. Not only are the 2013-2024 model year trucks risky to drive, but owners also have to pay…
Recall: Fiat 500 tire pressure monitoring system has problems
The Fiat 500 tyre pressure monitoring system warning light may be malfunctioning. June 29, 2024 — A Fiat 500 tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) issue has led to the recall of more than 11,600 vehicles equipped with TPMS warning lights that may not activate properly. Without an illuminated warning light, the driver will not be warned of low tire pressure. Chrysler is recalling certain Fiat 500 vehicles from the 2014 to 2019 model years that require a visit to a dealer to have the tire pressure monitoring system electronic control unit module reprogrammed. "If the vehicle's TPMS sensor values are programmed incorrectly, the warning indicator may not illuminate until the tire pressure drops 1 to 2 PSI below the minimum starting pressure requirement. One configuration placard shows the tire pressure at 38 PSI, so the low tire pressure indicator should illuminate when the tire pressure drops to 28.5 PSI (a 25% pressure drop), but may not illuminate until the pressure…
