The pickup truck is a part of the company's student car project for 2024 under the Skill India initiative. It was developed by a group of mechatronics students in nine months. For those who don't know, last year's student car project was the Skoda Rapid convertible. About the recently unveiled pickup truck, SAVWIPL said: “The project was developed in multiple phases, from finalizing the vehicle concept to idea gathering, market analysis, R&D, sourcing, packaging and final vehicle testing."
