October 28, 2024 — More than 1,600 Volkswagen Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport vehicles are being recalled because they may lose braking ability. The recalled 2024 Volkswagen Atlas and 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport vehicles may have an incorrect secondary piston spring retainer installed in the brake master cylinder, which may clog the brake fluid port. "The incorrect secondary piston spring retainer may be installed in the brake master cylinder. The incorrect part, which is shorter than specified, may prevent the piston from returning to the correct rest position, potentially blocking the brake fluid port." — Volkswagen Spring retainers for different car manufacturers are mixed with Volkswagen spring retainers.
