Augusto Fernandez will team up with experienced Yamaha MotoGP test rider Cal Crutchlow. The Spaniard will also participate in next year's top-flight tournament as a wild card. Augusto Fernandez is preparing for a crucial career change when he joins Yamaha as a MotoGP test rider in 2025. With his final season as a full-time premier rider coming to an end, Fernandez will focus on supporting Yamaha’s development efforts alongside experienced official test team rider Cal Crutchlow. Despite a difficult spell in KTM Tech 3, Fernandez will remain on the MotoGP circuit via a wildcard entry, benefiting from Yamaha's franchise status, and as the main reserve rider. Lin Jarvis said: I am delighted to confirm that Augusto Fernandez will officially join Yamaha as a Yamaha Factory MotoGP test rider for the 2025 season.
