Tata Motors’ domestic sales and export demand fall in October 2024 – Punch and Nexon remain Tata Motors’ best-selling models
Tata Motors’ sales have been quite sluggish in the past few months due to falling demand and market uncertainty. Passenger car sales decreased slightly by 0.43% year-on-year to 48,131 units sold in October 2024, compared with 48,337 units sold in October 2023. However, month-on-month sales improved significantly from the 41,064 units sold in September 2024, an increase of 17.21%.

Returning to sales in October 2024, Tata Motors’ exports also fell by 2.67% year-on-year, from 300 units shipped in October 2023 to 292 units. The company, which has the largest lineup of electric vehicles, has also seen sales decline this year. Sales in this category fell to 5,355 units last month, down 2.01% from 5,465 units in October 2023.
Tata Motors’ passenger car sales in the domestic market were 48,131 units, unchanged from 48,337 units sold in October 2023, and its total passenger car fleet (including electric vehicles) was 48,423 units. Compared with the 48,637 units sold in October 2023, growth decreased by 0.44%.
Tata commercial vehicle sales in October 2024
There are some peaks and valleys throughout the commercial vehicle (CV) world. HCV truck sales fell 2% year over year to 10,024 units, down from 10,204 units in October 2023. However, ILMCV truck sales soared 9% year-on-year to 5,836 units, far exceeding the 5,351 units sold as of October 2023. The company’s passenger carrier also sold 2,835 units in October 2024, a significant increase of 13% from the 2,514 units sold in the same month last year.
SCV cargo and pickup truck sales demand fell 3% to 14,013 units, down from October 2023 sales of 14,419 units. This brings total CV domestic sales in October 2024 to 32,708 units. This is a 1% increase from October 2023 sales of 32,488 units. October 2023.
As far as commercial vehicle exports are concerned, Tata Motors’ shipments fell by 15% from 1,829 units in October 2023 to 1,551 units in October 2024. This brought total commercial vehicle sales to 34,259 units, the same as the 34,317 units in the same period last year. For sale in October 2023.
In the photovoltaic segment, Tata Motors has revamped its product portfolio. Some variants of Punch have been removed, while the company has also removed some features from the Safari Pure variant.
