Road rage incidents are becoming more common in India and we have seen several videos and reports of road rage incidents across the country. The latest video comes from Lucknow where a businessman got frustrated with a taxi driver for hitting the rear of his car and beat him up in the middle of the road in broad daylight. The highlight of the incident was that he pulled out a gun and hit the taxi driver with the butt of the gun.

The video has been doing the rounds on various social media platforms. The video here was shared by a Twitter user named Govind Pratap Singh on his profile. In this video, we see a current Tata Safari parked on the rightmost lane of the road followed closely by a Maruti WagonR taxi.
According to reports online, the Safari belonged to Uttar Pradesh businessman Vinod Mishra. Mishra is also said to be a shooter and reportedly won the gold medal in 10m air pistol shooting at the Asia Pacific Masters Games in South Korea in 2023. The shooting businessman was unhappy when the taxi hit his SUV from behind. He lost his cool and started arguing with the driver. The argument may have escalated quickly and the shooting businessman pulled out a gun and started hitting the taxi driver with the butt of the gun.
The incident took place in Gomti Nagar area of Lucknow city. The person posted a video with the caption: “This is Lucknow… From the Chief Minister to all the senior officials sitting here. A bully beat a man with the butt of a pistol in the middle of the street. The incident was reported from Vibhutikhand police station area.”
The video went viral on the internet and people were unhappy with what they saw. Most were surprised that the man pulled out a gun in public and used it to attack someone. One user wrote, “Strict action should be taken against the perpetrators to set an example and make these gunmen fear the law.” Another user questioned why the man was carrying a gun, especially when there is a code of conduct. Most people have reported the incident to the Uttar Pradesh police, asking them to investigate the matter and take necessary action.
It seems that the Uttar Pradesh police did see the post and have taken action against the suspect. The businessman who reportedly beat the taxi driver with a gun has been identified and arrested. Further investigation has also begun in the matter.
Road rage
This was a clear case of road rage. According to reports, the only reason the taxi driver was attacked was because his car hit the businessman’s SUV. With the increasing number of vehicles on Indian roads, the chances of such minor incidents are high. It is always a good idea to be alert while driving and try to avoid any conflict if something like this happens.
If the damage is severe, apply for insurance. Fighting in the middle of the road is not the answer. If you are in this situation, always call the local police for help and don’t engage in a fight because you never know when things can escalate like they did here.
