Tata Motors removes many features from Safari Pure variant – prices continue to be same as before

Tata Motors, one of India’s leading SUV manufacturers, has been a well-known name in the mid-size SUV segment. They have flagship products Harrier and Safari in this segment, which have good sales prospects. The company is making some tweaks to the popular Pure trim level of the Safari SUV. Let’s take a look.

The Safari range starts with the base Smart trim level (called Persona by Tata Motors). At the lower end, we have the Intelligent and Smart(O) trims. Above them we have Pure, Pure (O), Pure + and Pure + S trims. Tata Motors has made some changes to the Safari Pure, Pure + and Pure + S. Please share updates with Motor Arena.

The Tata Safari Pure variant has been one of the best value for money options, not just in the Safari range but also in the mid-size SUV segment. But now that so many features have been removed, it’s no longer the VFM it once was.

Tata Motors has removed the AC vents in the third row and replaced them with fake covers. In addition to this, the possible floor console armrest for the front passengers has been removed from the equipment list for Pure, Pure + and Pure + S and replaced with an armrest dummy cap.

The above-mentioned Safari models no longer come with a spare tire and spare tire carrier. The roof lights for second- and third-row passengers have also been deleted. Tata has also stopped offering TPMS with these trims. Therefore, the TPMS valves on the wheels and the TPMS indicator in the instrument cluster are no longer available.

In addition to this, the virtual CPL and TSO and LED lights have also been deleted. The ORVM available on these trims can now be adjusted manually via a toggle switch. Additionally, Tata is changing the front and rear tow ball covers to granite black.

What have changed?

There are very few new additions after this adjustment. First, Tata Motors has provided the IHU with a 10.25-inch screen. A rear camera system has also been added. Finally, the antenna is now shark fin style. Otherwise, the Safari Pure, Pure + and Pure + S trims remain the same.

The same 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel engine continues to power the Safari. The engine is capable of producing a peak power of 170 PS and a peak torque of 350 Nm. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
