Tata sold a total of 48,131 vehicles last month, while domestic sales were 48,337 units, down slightly year-on-year
Tata Motors Ltd’s total sales in the domestic and international markets were 82,682 units in October 2024, slightly lower than the 82,954 units in October 2023. In the domestic market, Tata sold 80,839 units last month as compared to 80,825 units in the same period in 2023. Growth across the auto industry was almost flat.
Similarly, Tata’s sales totaled 48,131 units last month, while growth in the passenger car business, including electric vehicles, was marginally lower at 48,337 units. The brand also sold 292 vehicles in foreign markets, compared with 300 vehicles in the same period last year, a year-on-year decrease of 3%. Therefore, total sales were 48,423 units.
Growth was flat compared with sales of 48,637 units in the same period 12 months ago. Tata Passenger Cars’ electric vehicle sales fell slightly by 2% year-on-year to 5,355 units compared to 5,465 units sold in the same period. In 2024, Tata has enhanced its lineup with the launch of two new electric vehicles, Punch EV and Curvv EV.

Before the end of this fiscal year, Tata will launch an electric version of Harrier. In the next fiscal year, the company will launch Sierra EV and Avinya. The competition for the above Rs. The market size of 1.5 million electric vehicles is sure to grow and as a market leader, Tata will enhance its appeal by continuously introducing new products.
IC engine Punch and Nexon are Tata’s best-selling models. In September 2024, Tata Motors ranked fourth in overall sales, behind Mahindra, and the trend continued in October. Most leading automakers reported a rebound in sales during the holiday season after falling in September.

Tata Motors and Honda Cars India, however, bucked the trend and saw sales decline, albeit modestly. In comparison, Maruti Suzuki’s monthly production exceeded 200,000 units, while Mahindra achieved its highest monthly sales in history, with SUV sales of 54,504 units compared to 43,708 units, a significant increase of 25%.
