Tata Sierra Ice found tests to launch petrol and diesel engines in the second half of 2025

The iconic Tata Sierra is making a comeback, with the first spy shot of its internal combustion engine variant surfaced as testing on Indian Roads begins. The SUV unveiled in a near-production form at the 2025 Auto Expo, retaining its unique outline, paying tribute to the original Sierra in the 1990s. Tata Motors is preparing for the official launch of the SUV, which is expected to be the end of this year.

Classic design in modern style

The camouflage prototype reveals several key design elements, reminiscent of the original Serra while combining modern styling tips. Notable features include signature curved rear windows, a high-set hood and a square arch. The front shows a split headlight setup, while the rear has connected LED strips. Unlike the Sierra EV, the ICE version has a central air intake on the lower bumper, indicating its combustion engine setup.

While the test m was seen with steel wheels, the higher trim was expected to be equipped with stylish 19-inch alloy wheels, enhancing the SUV’s road condition.

Interior and features

Although the spy shots don’t look inside the cabin, the versions shown on Auto Expo 2025 feature a floating three-screen layout and a four-spoke steering wheel. Tata Electric has not disclosed all powertrain specifications, but the Iceberg is expected to accommodate a 1.5-liter turbo-turbo engine, producing about 170 hp and 280 nm of torque. Diesel engine options will also be available, expanding the appeal of traditional SUV enthusiasts.

Start timetable and market competition

Tata Sierra’s ice variant is expected to be released in showrooms soon after its electric pairing product launch, both versions are likely to arrive by the end of 2025. Located in Tata Kia Seltos and Maruti Grand Vitara. The expected length of the Serra Mountains is about 4.3 meters, designed to attract urban practicality and sturdy Balance between forces.
