Tata Sierra SUV – Confirm release details and expectations

The all-new Tata Sierra SUV was unveiled in its near-production version at Auto Expo in January. The automaker has confirmed that its final version will be available in the showroom in the second half of 2025 Diwali season. Interestingly, the new Sierra Leone will offer three different engine options – petrol, diesel and electric motors. The price of ice (internal combustion engine) version may begin Rs 10.5 lakh Electric iterations may cost Rs 2.5 lakh For the basic model.

Expected engine specifications:

Official details of the SUV have not been disclosed yet. However, the Tata Sierra Ice is expected to be available in 1.5-liter turbo petrol and 2.0L diesel engines, with 170PS at 280nm and 118ps respectively. The lineup will be equipped with two transmission options – a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission.

The Sierra Electric may use a 60kWh battery pack with dual-motor, AWD (all-wheel drive) configuration, which may be a higher trim. This variant will be fully charged back to the range of 500 km wheels. The lower trim is expected to be equipped with a smaller battery pack.

Rumors are that the Tata may offer a 4×4 drivetrain system with ice-powered Sierra. If this happens, an ATLAS-based SUV will have some serious off-road features. Tata Sierra EV will support the Acti.EV platform, which also forms the basis of Punch EV and Curvv EV.

Expected functions:

The close-up production model presented confirms the existence of three screen settings – a central infotainment touch screen, a passenger side display and a digital instrument cluster. The new Tata Sierra is expected to be equipped with a range of features including a panoramic sunroof, wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay, Auto Dimming IRVM, 360-degree camera, ventilated seats, Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System), and more.
