Tata Motors is already the leader in the Indian EV Market, planning to double its electric vehicle portfolio amid rising competition. To achieve this, the automaker invested more than $1 billion and launched its high-end power brand Avinya. The first Avinya model will be a 5-door Sportback, which is presented on the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show in January, with its concept Avatar (Avinya X). Then there will be an electric SUV, a smaller SUV (nearly 4.4 meters in length), a large MPV and a three-row SUV.

The ready-to-produce Tata Avinya X may come with a brand new two-spoke steering wheel with multiple touch-based controls and a center wrapped in leather. A recent leaked patent for the steering wheel reveals that the device will have call and music controls on the left and cruise control and ADAS capabilities on the right. The steering wheel will have a two-tone finish.
This luxury electric SUV from Tata will feature a large floating central infotainment system, a dual-tone instrument panel with hidden AC vents and a 4-seat configuration in a lounge-like setting. Features such as panoramic sunroof, multi-area automatic AC, wireless phone charger, vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2L) charging functions, 360-degree camera, ADA (Advanced Driver Assistance System) kit will also be available.
The final production version of Tata Avinya X may get some practical cosmetic changes conceptually while retaining most design elements. The concept features a glossy black finish on the front and rear bumpers, an extended “T” logo with LED lighting signatures on the front and rear, two slim DRL horizontal bars with matrix technology, large dual tone wheels and front and rear magnetic fields.
Tata Avinya X will be built on JLR’s EMA architecture. Its official specifications have not been disclosed, but it reportedly has a large battery pack that offers a range of more than 500 km. The Avinya EV will also support fast charging.
