— The 2024 Tesla Cybertruck recall involves more than 2,400 trucks with a risk of losing power to the wheels due to a faulty drive inverter.
Tesla launched an investigation in August after receiving complaints about 2024 Cybertruck wheels losing power.
In October, engineers determined that drive inverters were experiencing an increase in failure rates.
If there is a problem with the inverter, electric truck drivers will receive a warning to get off the road.
The automaker has received five warranty claims but no crashes or injuries reported.
Starting around December 9, 2024, Tesla will replace the Cybertruck drive inverter. However, Cybertruck recall letters will not be sent out until January 2025.
Tesla Cybertruck owners with questions are asked to call 877-798-3752 and refer to drive inverter recall number SB-24-40-009.
