In September, driven by the strong performance of several key models, Mahindra’s domestic sales increased significantly by 24% year-on-year. Thar, Scorpio-N and XUV700 played a key role in the sales growth, reflecting the growing consumer demand for these popular SUVs. Mahindra’s focus on offering innovative features, robust design and strong off-road capabilities has helped the company capture a larger market share. Additionally, the continued appeal of its utility vehicles (UVs) has further cemented Mahindra’s dominance in the Indian automotive industry.

Mahindra sales figures: September 2024
The company’s sales increased significantly, with the passenger vehicle (PV) segment growing by 24% year-on-year. Total sales reached 87,839 units. The homegrown carmaker sold 51,062 units in the domestic utility vehicle (UV) category, up from 41,267 units in September 2023, registering a year-on-year growth of 24%. The company also performed well in the commercial vehicle (CV) segment, with sales of electric three-wheelers reaching 10,044 units in September 2024 as compared to 7,921 units in the previous year. In the LCV and MHCV categories, Mahindra sold 23,706 units. In addition, overall export volume increased to 3,027 units, an increase of 25% from 2,419 units in September last year.
Commenting on the brand’s latest sales performance, Veejay Nakra, president of M&M Ltd.’s automotive division, said: “In September, we sold 51,062 SUVs, an increase of 24%; total sales were 87,839 units, an increase of 16%. Thar Roxx 4×4 gets new interior theme
Following the full price launch of the Thar Roxx 4×4, Mahindra has launched a new interior option called Mocha Brown for the off-road SUV. The decision came after customer feedback pointed out the difficulty of maintaining ivory interiors, particularly for families with children. The Mocha Brown interior is priced at the same price as the Ivory option, providing another option and giving customers more options based on their preferences. Both trims feature premium leatherette seats and a color-coordinated theme that adds to the elegance. Deliveries of the ivory model will begin this month, and the mocha brown model will begin delivery in January 2025. The mocha brown interior is exclusive to the 4×4 model.
