UK-based Clive Sutton has unveiled what he calls the ultimate Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, comparing it to a first-class airline experience. Does the car have all the right ingredients to live up to the hype?
Arguably the most important part of a commercial aircraft first class suite is the seats. To make this Sprinter as luxurious as possible, Clive Sutton installed seven custom leather seats with fully electric leg rests, tilt and slide functionality, heating and cooling, adjustable lumbar support and built-in massage. They really do look first class and can be adjusted via a dedicated touch pad on the armrest. The seats get the nod for that.

First class seats on airliners are also about privacy, so this particular Sprinter is equipped with an electronically controlled partition that separates the passenger cabin from the front row. Dark privacy glass helps ensure those outside can’t see into the cabin. There are also a pair of 43-inch TV screens with Apple TV and HDMI connections. One feature of the Mercedes that you won’t find on a plane is an onboard PlayStation 5.
Wood trim, a Milanese suede headliner and plush carpeting further enhance the cabin’s luxurious feel. In addition to the onboard WiFi system, a huge panoramic glass roof and two beverage refrigerators, a roaring sound system has also been installed.
“For years our customers have been demanding a level of luxury and convenience that goes beyond what the standard luxury car market can offer,” Clive Sutton said of the Sprinter. “Our 2025 First Class Sprinter joins our premium line-up of VP Class Mercedes-Benz, VIP London Taxi and Lexus LM VIP conversions, establishing Clive Sutton as a leader in luxury transportation for customers in the UK and around the world.”
The company’s road-going first-class suite will be on display at the UK’s Salon Prive this weekend. Prices start at a staggering £230,000 (about $303,000) plus VAT.
