The Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale sounds as good as you'd hope it would
  • Alfa Romeo has finally revealed what the 33 Stradale sounds like.
  • The model’s twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine produces more than 612 horsepower and has “power and a precise sound.”
  • Customers can also get an electric powertrain with more than 740 horsepower.

Alfa Romeo unveiled the 33 Stradale nearly a year ago, but we’ve yet to hear it. That changes today, as the automaker has released a short video showing off the wonderful sound of the car’s twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine.

According to the company, the model is currently only shown in static form, but their engineering team is now focusing on dynamic development, which will allow them to capture the roar of the car.

While it’s hard to describe the sound, Alfa Romeo says the engine produces a “elegant, harmonious and refined” sound. The company also calls it “a soundtrack of power and precision, the result of mechanical virtuosity and Italian passion.”

It sounds a bit exaggerated, but the car sounds good. Of course, this is to be expected for a limited edition exotic car with more than 612 hp (456 kW / 620 PS). The twin-turbo engine is connected to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, sending power to the rear wheels via an electronic limited-slip differential. This enables the car to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in less than three seconds and reach a top speed of 207 mph (333 km/h).

Alfa Romeo will also launch an electric version of the 33 Stradale. Although it may sound a bit unceremonious, this electric model will have more than 740 hp (552 kW / 750 PS) and a WLTP range of around 280 miles (450 km).

The car will be produced in a limited edition of 33 units and is currently sold out. Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera will be responsible for the production of Alfa Romeo, and the car promises “excellence on the track without compromising comfort and ease of use, including daily driving.”
