Gadkari said it is expected to match the cost of gasoline cars within six months.

In a significant development of India’s electric action sector, United Road Transport and Highway Minister Nitin Gadkari expects the country’s electric vehicle prices to match the prices of gasoline-powered vehicles in the next six months. The announcement comes at the 32nd convergence of India and the 10th Smart City Expo held on Wednesday.

Gadkari highlighted the broader vision of the government, reiterating that national policies continue to focus on reducing imports, increasing cost-effectiveness, minimizing pollution and promoting indigenous manufacturing.

He also provided the latest news on the progress of infrastructure development and noted that the construction of the 212km Delhi-Dehradun access controlled highway is about to be completed and is expected to be completed within three months.

In India’s economic outlook, the minister stressed that improving infrastructure is crucial to achieving the goal of becoming the world’s third largest economy. “Developing an effective road network will help reduce logistics costs,” he noted.

Gadkari further highlighted the government’s commitment to promoting smart transportation and urban development, citing the continuous promotion of rapid transport systems for electric quality.

Encouraging the adoption of cutting-edge technologies, he called for continued innovation in road construction approaches to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
