
After a long wait, Hyundai is all set to launch the updated Alcazar in India on September 9. Going by the previous spy shots, the three-row SUV will be similar to the redesigned Hyundai Creta and will get some unique features like a new grille and front bumper that will add to its uniqueness. It will also get updated side cladding, newly designed alloy wheels and vertically stacked connected LED taillights. While the exact details are yet to be revealed, the new Alcazar is likely to not feature mechanical changes. It is also expected to renew its rivalry with the Tata Safari and MG Hector Plus. Hyundai Alcazar: interior and features
While the Alcazar will retain the 6- and 7-seater layouts, it is expected to include more technology and features similar to the updated Creta such as two 10.25-inch screens (one for the infotainment system and one for the digital instrument cluster). It is also likely to come with an 8-speaker Bose sound system, front and rear parking sensors, wireless phone charging and dual-zone climate control, six airbags, electronic parking brake with auto hold, electronic stability control and ADAS.
Hyundai Alcazar: Engine
Although the powertrain specifications are unknown, the new Alcazar is expected to use the same engine options as the current model, including a 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine and a 1.5-liter diesel engine. The former can produce 157.8 horsepower and 253 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The latter can produce 114.4 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque, paired with a 6MT or 6AT gearbox.

Hyundai Alcazar: expected prices
Since this is a facelifted car, Hyundai is expected to charge a hefty premium (Rs 70,000-80,000) over the current Alcazar, which is priced between Rs 16.77 lakh and Rs 21.28 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Hyundai is also likely to start shipping the new Alcazar to owners in mid- or late September.
