After launching the S(O)+ variant of its Venue compact SUV, Hyundai has added a new model to its SUV range. Dubbed the S+, the model slots in between the S and S(O). Priced at Rs 9.36 lakh (ex-showroom), the Hyundai Venue S+ adds a powered sunroof to the S variant on which it is based. This makes it around Rs 64,000 cheaper than the company’s recently launched S(O)+ variant with the same features.
In addition to the above features, the Venue S+ also offers an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a digital instrument cluster with a color TFT display. Other features include rear air-conditioning vents as well as external roof rails. Safety-wise, the Venue S+ is equipped with automatic headlights, six airbags, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, hill start assist, seatbelt reminder, tyre pressure monitor and ISOFIX child seat mounts.

Hyundai Venue S+: Powertrain
The Hyundai Venue S+ is powered by a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox only. The new engine produces 82bhp and 114Nm of peak torque.
The price of Hyundai Venue ranges from Rs 7.94 lakh for the base E model to Rs 13.48 lakh for the top-of-the-line SX(O) Dual Tone Knight. Prices are ex-showroom in India. In terms of market competition, Venue competes with the Kia Sonet, Nissan Magnite, Tata Nexon and Mahindra XUV 3XO.
Hyundai: Creta becomes the best-selling car in July 2024
Last month, Hyundai Motor ranked second in the Indian car market. Hyundai Motor sold 49,013 units and captured 14.29% market share. Of the total sales of 49,013 units, Creta SUV (which was facelifted in January 2024) contributed 17,350 units in July 2024, a growth of 23% over the 14,062 units delivered in the same period last year.

The Creta is currently priced between Rs 11 lakh and Rs 20.15 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. It is available in seven core variants and with a variety of powertrains.
