- Audi has released details on the replacement of the outgoing A4’s US-Market 2025 A5 sedan.
- The four-door elevator starts at $48,995, which is above $45,395, including destination fees.
- The A5S comes with 2.0-liter 268 hp turbocharged four, while the S5 gets 362 hp from the 3.0-liter V6.
The A5 replaced the A4 in Audi’s compact sedan lineup halfway through the 2025 model, which isn’t the only number to grow. The same is true for a sign after the US dollar. The new model starts at $48,995, which includes a $1,295 destination fee, which is $3,600 more than the A4 fee.
On the other hand, the new A5 isn’t as expensive as the 2024 A5 Sportback sedan, and the new car has replaced it and is technically closer to the concept.

Both batsmen have lift guard and sporty quick styling, while the A4 (which can still be used on Audi website and starts at $45,395) is a traditional concave sedan. Truck variants are available in Europe, but not in the United States.
Like the A4, the new A5 comes with a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline 4 and drives all four wheels through a dual-clutch transmission. However, instead of 261 hp (265 ps) and 273 lb-ft (370 nm) of torque, the A5 pumps out 268 hp (272 ps) and 295 lb-ft (400 nm). Despite the extra muscle, the new car is slower than the old one: the time from zero to 60 mph (96 km/h) increases from 5.2 seconds to 5.6 seconds.

S5 nearly 370 hp
The performance-oriented S5 swaps four for V6 and makes 362 hp (367 PS) and 406 lb-ft (550 nm) more satisfying, with these figures improving from the 349 hp (354 PS) and 369 lb-ft (500 nm) of the old S4.
In addition to taking the stage, the new A5 and S5 have adopted more paths. They are 2.6 inches longer (66 mm) and 0.5 inches (13 mm) wider than the A4, while the 2.8 inches (71 mm) of extra legroom means more space in the cabin.
So far, Audi has revealed only the starting price of $48,995, rather than the cost of each model in the lineup. But we know that premium, Premium Plus and Prestige trim will be available, with higher scores available for Audi’s new customizable digital front DRL and OLED taillights.

Other new technology options include a 10.9-inch front passenger display and Dynamic Interactive Light (IAL), an LED strap that runs on the dash that should give drivers clues about drivers like door locks and turn signal status.
Audi said U.S. dealers will offer a full lineup of A5 and S5 by the end of the second quarter. Following the A6 replacement will be within a short time, the A6 plan to get the A7 name, following Audi’s strategy to use for the A5, in which electric cars will get even numbers and burning car odd numbers. But due to customer confusion, the policy has been removed and the A6 replacement will keep the same name as the current model.
