Ducati has launched the Hypermotard 950 SP in India, which is positioned after the RVE. The new Ducati Hypermotard 950 SP is priced at Rs 19.05 lakh (ex-showroom), which is about Rs 3 lakh more expensive than the RVE. At this price, the Hypermotard 950 SP comes with a longer-travel Ohlins suspension, lighter wheels, a unique paint scheme and the same L-Twin engine as the RVE.
The Ducati Hypermotard 950 SP also looks similar to the RVE, save for the new design of the SP decals and top-of-the-line Marchesini wheels. While the chassis and braking hardware remain the same, the Hypermotard 950 SP has a longer-travel Ohlins suspension setup. Compared to the RVE, which uses a Marzocchi inverted front fork and a Sachs rear monoshock, the Hypermotard 950 SP is equipped with a 48mm Ohlins inverted front fork (185mm travel) and an Ohlins rear monoshock (175mm travel), both of which are fully adjustable. Due to the increased suspension travel, the SP’s seat height is 890mm, 20mm higher than the RVE.

Braking duties for the SP are handled by radially mounted dual 320mm front discs and Brembo monobloc calipers, and 245mm rear discs and twin-piston calipers. The SP rides on lighter forged Marchesini aluminium wheels wrapped in Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tyres, while the RVE is fitted with Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tyres. As a result, kerb weight (without fuel) is 191kg, down 2kg.

The Hypermotard 950 SP is powered by the same 937cc L-twin engine as the RVE. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch and produces 112bhp and 96Nm of peak torque. Electronic aids include cornering ABS (anti-lock braking system), wheelie control, slide brake, quickshifter (standard) and riding modes (Sport, Touring and City).
