The unexpected appearance of Volvo EX60 SUV

The upcoming compact electric crossover makes fun of during Volvo’s ES90 demo

After a series of high-profile leaks, Volvo finally announced the ES90 midsize sedan earlier. However, most people may not have watched live videos from Stockholm, Sweden.

If anything, they will find a brief trailer for the upcoming EX60, which will be the power of the popular gas-powered XC60. When the woman opened a door to expose the partially covered clay model, about 25 minutes appeared for 25 minutes. She quickly closed the door but didn’t close until the first 90 back ends were exposed.

Although there isn’t much visible, the electric luxury crossover angled taillights are located on both sides of the rear window. At the bottom of the windows, they transition to the exterior edge of the car.

In addition to the taillights, we can also see the sloping rear waistband and recessed lift doors. They are joined with a black rear bumper with chrome horizontal elements.

Volvo has nothing to say about crossovers, but it is briefly mentioned in their 2024 financial introduction. The company noted in particular that the first EX60 test tool had been built and driven. They added that the model will be on the new SPA3 platform, which will “start the target with a substantial cost reduction.”

The company went on to suggest that the SPA3 platform will debut in the short term and become a scalable architecture that will eventually support every Volvo. While we can expect to learn more in the coming months, the EX60 is not expected to be launched until next year.

Given that the crossover will ride on the all-new platform, it’s too early to talk about specs. However, since it is an upgraded version of the SPA2 platform, the EX60 may share some components with the EX90 and ES90.
