The upcoming MG Windsor EV will be launched in India on September 11

MG’s smart CUV (crossover utility vehicle) – Windsor EV will be launched in India on September 11. It is basically a hybrid of a hatchback and an MPV and measures about 4,300 mm in length. This makes the upcoming CUV slightly smaller than the Kia Carens and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. The wheelbase of the MG Windsor EV is 2,700 mm.

As a rebadged version of the Wuling Yun EV, the Windsor EV is expected to have a large front fascia with a full-width LED light bar, a closed grille, a wide air dam, and projector headlamps. In addition, the model may be equipped with flush door handles, front door-mounted exterior mirrors, a wraparound glass cover, and an integrated spoiler. The alloy wheels are likely to be 18-inch wheels with 215/55-section tires.

MG Windsor EV: Features

MG’s latest teaser confirms that the rear seats can accommodate 3 passengers and are equipped with three-point seat belts and adjustable headrests. The rear seats are said to be able to recline 135 degrees. The Windsor EV will also offer rear air-conditioning vents, a rear center armrest, ambient lighting, and leather upholstery with quilted stitching.

The dashboard is likely to feature a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, a multi-function steering wheel, and horizontally placed air-conditioning vents. Other expected features include a panoramic sunroof, connected car technology, automatic climate control, power seats, a 360-degree camera, ABS with EBD, and an ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) suite.

MG Windsor EV: Battery, range

In global markets, two battery options are available – 37.9kWh and 50.6kWh, powering a 134bhp, front-axle-mounted electric motor. The former has a claimed range of 360km, while the latter has a range of 460km. It is not clear which version will make its way to the Indian market.
