Toyota City Cruiser BEV to be launched in India in the second half of 2025 and will sell two battery options
The Toyota City Cruiser BEV was presented in January at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in New Delhi after its debut at the 2025 Brussels Auto Show. The electric SUV has been confirmed to arrive in the Indian market later this year. The five-seater SUV has a length of 4,285mm and a wheelbase of 2,700mm, exceeding the size of the Yaris Cross and E Vitara, especially in the European market.
The cabin of the Toyota City Cruiser Electric car has a low fixed level instrument panel designed to improve visibility, while the overhead seat position provides a commanding view of the road. City Cruiser EV shared production facilities with Suzuki Motors’ Gujarat plant will also be exported to various international markets, expanding Toyota’s global electric vehicle business.
Built on a modified version of the Toyota 27PL platform, Toyota Urban Cruiser Bev shares significant design elements with E Vitara. By eliminating the floor beams, the platform provides space for larger batteries without compromising the cabin space. In the international market, EV will offer two Iron Lithium Phosphate battery pack options and an AWD system.

In India, the Toyota City Cruiser BEV will also offer the same battery options. The 144 hp produced by the 49 kWh battery pack will come exclusively with a front-wheel drive configuration similar to its European counterpart. Both the FWD and all-wheel drive versions can use a larger 61 kWh battery.
Although the FWD variant produces 174 hp, the output of the AWD model is slightly higher than 184 hp. The Toyota City Cruiser EV AWD comes with an additional 48 kW motor that is mounted on the rear axle. The claimed range is expected to exceed 500 kilometers between charges and it will support fast charging of DC.
