  • Thieves occupied eight mountains in total from a GM factory in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
  • Shortly afterwards, officers found all the cars near the employee-driven ZR-1.
  • Now, one person is being detained and officials are looking for other accomplices.

Thieves have been sliding cars all the time, but they don’t decide to steal them directly from the automaker’s production lines every day. However, this is GM’s Kentucky green plant, where Corvette is made. Just to add some extra ridiculousness to the mix, it’s not a lonely job. No, eight Witters were taken away.

Although initially reported that the 1,064 horsepower 2025 Corvette Zr-1 was a stolen vehicle, contacted GM later Roads and tracks To clarify that ZR-1 is not one of the stolen Corvettes. Still, you want GM people to be particularly alert to these cars, regardless of their decor. However, despite this, a group of thieves managed to drive them away.

Routine checkups are not so routine

In fact, the only reason the plant employees noticed the disappearance was the Warren County Sheriff’s Office calling. An officer saw a Corvette with stickers for all its production facilities in the apartment building within about 14 minutes from the bowling green factory. Corvette salesman Mark Thomas posted information about the event on Facebook and uncovered some details.

When authorities contacted the factory, it was obvious that no one noticed that every model they built was not present. Apparently, the sheriff’s office told the production facility that at least one car was missing. It turns out that they actually didn’t miss one, but eight! The suspect reportedly cut off the car with a fence.

It seems that the thieves drove some of the stolen frigates to the nearby home improvement store in Lowe. The reason behind this destination choice is unclear, but at least one keen car enthusiast discovered the red ZR-1 and managed to take a few photos. Fortunately, the police were also on the scene and some stolen frigates were restored.

Strangely, Lowe’s problem is only 7.3 miles, or faster on the ZR-1 from the factory). One would expect thieves to store them in an enclosed garage or something, especially in the wild red brand clicking on the ZR-1 will certainly get people’s attention, but obviously, they are not crime planners.

Deantae Walker, 21, of Westland, Michigan, was arrested for a bold robbery, according to WBKO News. Now, he is charged with receiving $10,000 or more of theft property, fleeing or evading police and resisting arrests, while police are still looking for his accomplices.
