This 1974 Mercedes-Benz is the ultimate stylish RV

Under the almost comically boxy exterior is a powerful 5.7-liter direct-injection diesel engine mated to a 12-speed transmission. The listing states that the powertrain produces approximately 187 horsepower, which is sent to all four wheels. It also comes with a locking rear differential for traversing challenging terrain.

What’s really special about this car, though, is the Variomobil body. Inside the living space, you’ll find a kitchen with a sink and gas hob, a cozy seating area, two Tempur-Pedic mattresses, a bathroom with an integrated shower, a TV, a fridge and, of course, plenty of storage space.

Outside of the RV, you’ll find an electric bike rack, extra fuel storage, two different towing hooks, three 180-watt solar panels, an awning, and an outdoor shower. There are even some exterior speakers to play music from the RV’s sound system.

The logistics are well taken care of too. The car has a 450-litre fuel tank, a 300-litre fresh water tank, a 200-litre waste water tank and a pair of 11kg propane tanks. Did we mention it also comes with onboard navigation and wifi? It really is equipped with everything one or two people need to enjoy a weekend away.

It’s available now through Collectors Garage, but keep in mind that the car is currently in Germany, but it’s probably legal to import into most places. Currently, the figure is 149,000 Euros or about $162,000.
