The Xiaomi YU7 electric SUV, the Chinese company’s second mass-produced model after the SU7 sedan, has been leaked in China. Xiaomi’s public sales license filing with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and subsequent official images reveal much about the electric SUV’s exterior design; however, the vehicle you see in the photos is aimed at the Chinese market . Dimensionally, the YU7 looks very similar to the SU7 launched in China in March 2024, except for the height. It is 4,999mm long, 1,996mm wide, 1,600mm high (an increase of 145mm), and has a wheelbase of 3,000mm. The car’s curb weight is 2,405 kg.
Even styling cues are borrowed from sedans in the class, with the YU7 featuring teardrop-shaped LED headlights, sharp creases, a stylish greenhouse and interconnected LED taillights. Compared to the electric sedan, the electric SUV has more flared wheel arches, a raised bonnet and a new wheel design. It also features a ducktail spoiler and a unique roofline. The MIIT filing further tells us that the new car will be produced at the brand’s Beijing factory, where Xiaomi recently produced its 100,000th SU7.

Xiaomi YU7: Powertrain
Under the hood, the YU7 features a dual-motor setup – one on the front axle and the other on the rear axle. The front motor produces 295 horsepower and the rear motor produces 386 horsepower, for a total power output of 681 horsepower. This makes it more powerful than the top-spec SU7 Max, which pumps out 664 horsepower. The rated top speed is 253 km/h. Battery specifications are currently being kept under wraps, but we do know that the SUV will be equipped with lithium NMC batteries produced by CATL.
Xiaomi YU7: Interior
Xiaomi has not yet revealed the internal design of the YUV. Expected features include a large multimedia panel for music, navigation and car-related information, as well as a digital instrument cluster and two screens for rear-seat occupants. In addition, YU7 can also provide roof-mounted LiDAR sensors to achieve autonomous driving functions.
