This Ferrari 360 Spider's gated manual and V8 make us nostalgic for the old days
  • The powerful 3.6-liter V8 engine with a flat-plane crankshaft makes this 360 Spider fun to drive.
  • The exterior of the hotel is bathed in a beautiful red color known as Rosso Fiorano.
  • This iconic Italian supercar has 395 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque.

Life was much simpler in 2001. Computers were just beginning to go mainstream, smartphones were still years away, and the first dual-clutch transmission was still two years away from being introduced in production cars. Ferrari’s product line was also much simpler than it is today. Do you want to relive those times? Now’s your chance.

A beautiful 2001 Ferrari 360 Spider has just been auctioned off through Bring a Trailer and could be a great car for nostalgic people or those who want to see what it was like to drive a Ferrari 23 years ago. Despite its age, the car looks very good and has only been driven about 12,000 miles (19,000 km).

The color of the car is what first caught our attention. Instead of Rosso Corsa, like many other Ferraris on the market, this 360 is finished in Rosso Fiorano. The red is complemented by 18-inch five-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ tires and black brake calipers.

Clearly, the original owner had excellent taste, because the interior of the car is just as special as the exterior. Cream leather trims the seats, door panels, and lower dashboard. There’s also no fancy dual-clutch gearbox like in modern Ferraris, but a six-speed gated manual transmission.

Drive Time in the 2001 Ferrari 360 Spider!

This excellent transmission is mated to a 3.6-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine that features a flat-plane crankshaft and revs to 8,500 rpm, producing 395 hp and 275 lb-ft (373 Nm) of torque. While this engine makes an intoxicating growl right out of the factory, this car is equipped with a Capristo exhaust to ensure it really roars.

If you’re excited about this 360 Spider, head over to Bring a Trailer.
