
Volkswagen Tiguan R Line India released originally scheduled for 14Th April 2025. It will be the new top-tier version in the SUV lineup, which will serve as a fully imported unit with an expected price of around Rs 5 million (formerly showroom). The existing regular Tiguan price is Rs 38.17 crore. Official details of the new Tiguan R series will be revealed near its official arrival. Here are all the key details we know so far.
More powerful:
In India, the Volkswagen Tiguan R series may be equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The maximum power of this motor is 265bhp, making it stronger than the regular Tiguan, which comes with a 190bhp, 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine. Unlike the global version, the Indian-spec Tiguan R series will miss the option of a mildly mixed petrol and diesel engine.
R-line exclusive interior:
The basic MQB EVO platform foundation of the Volkswagen Tiguan R series has received some exclusive sports elements inside and outside on regular models. This new variant features a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is available in the latest version of MIB4 software, a 10.3-inch digital instrument cluster, OTA (On the Air) update, an ambient lighting package that offers three lightweight areas and 30 color and sports seats.
Sports design:
Visually, the Volkswagen Tiguan R series looks more athletic than the regular version. It comes with full-width horizontal LED strips on the front and rear, front and rear bumpers, R-line-specific side panels, larger 19-inch alloy wheels and rear spoiler.

Volkswagen India also plans to introduce Volkswagen Golf GTI In India in the coming months. The hot plate uses a 2.0L, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with a maximum power of 265bhp and 370nm of torque. The transmission responsibility is performed by the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and sends power to the front wheels. The Volkswagen Golf GTI reaches 0 to 100kmph in 5.9 seconds, with a top speed of 250 kmph.
