Top 5 best-selling car brands in July 2024: Maruti Suzuki,

In July 2024, Maruti Suzuki remained the best-selling car brand with sales of 1.37 lakh units. It was followed by Hyundai and Tata Motors, which sold 49,013 and 44,727 units respectively. In the April-June quarter of fiscal 2024-25, Maruti Suzuki announced a net profit of Rs 3,649.90 crore, a growth of 46.9% from Rs 2,485.1 crore in the previous year. The company’s net sales for the period reached Rs 33,875 crore, a significant increase from the first quarter of fiscal 2023-2024. Talking about monthly sales, let’s take a detailed look at the performance of the top five best-selling car brands.

Maruti Suzuki

In July this year, Maruti Suzuki’s sales fell 9.6% year-on-year. In comparison, in July 2023, the company sold 1.52 lakh vehicles. The company sells a variety of models in our market, including hatchbacks, sedans, and SUVs. The company recently recalled its best-selling hatchback, the Alto K10, due to a possible issue with the steering gearbox unit.

In July, Hyundai Motor emerged as the second best-selling automaker. Its sales fell 3.3% year-on-year, with a market share of 14.29%. Notably, the Creta from the automaker’s SUV lineup was the best-selling car last month. It sold 17,350 units, a 23% increase from the 14,062 units supplied in the same period of 2023.

Tata Motors reported a decline in sales in July this year compared to last year, similar to Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai. It fell 6.1% year-on-year and had a market share of 13.04%. On the other hand, the Tata Punch emerged as the best-selling car in the first half of 2024. The SUV sold 1,10,308 units during the period, a 64% increase from the 67,117 units sold in the first half of 2023.

Last month, the Scorpio manufacturer ranked fourth in the sales chart. Its sales stood at 41,623 units, up 15% from the 36,205 units delivered in July 2023. The automaker will launch the much-anticipated 5-door SUV Thar Roxx on August 15. The SUV comes with a host of improvements compared to the 3-door SUV and is expected to be priced higher.

Toyota Innova Crysta

Toyota’s vehicle sales grew 42% year-on-year in July 2024. The manufacturer delivered 29,533 vehicles last month compared to 20,759 units sold in July last year. Recently, the company reopened the order books for the top ZX and ZX(O) variants of the Innova Hycross MPV. The ZX version is priced at Rs 30.34 lakh, while the ZX(O) version is priced at Rs 30.98 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom.
