Top five best-selling two-wheeler brands in November 2024: Hero

In November 2024, Hero MotoCorp dominated the Indian two-wheeler market, overtaking rivals such as Honda, TVS and Bajaj. The company also made headlines at EICMA 2024 with the debut of its premium motorcycle range (Xpulse 210, Xtreme 250R, Karizma XMR 250) and the electric VIDA Z scooter. As the year-end is approaching, let’s take a look at the sales figures of the top five two-wheeler brands in November.

Although Hero held the top spot with sales of 4.40 lakh units, its dominance was challenged by Honda, which sold just 7,000 units less. Compared with 476,000 units in November 2023, the Splendor Plus manufacturer’s sales fell by 7.67% year-on-year. Compared with the strong sales of 657,000 vehicles in October, the decline was even greater, reaching 33.10%.

In November 2024, Honda followed Hero with sales of 433,000 units, a year-on-year decrease of 21.74% from the 553,000 units sold in October. However, compared to 421,000 units in November 2023, the company experienced a year-on-year growth of 2.90%.

Honda has made its debut in the Indian electric vehicle market with two scooters: Activa e: and QC1. Activa e: is the electric version of the popular Activa with a replaceable battery, while the QC1 is a fixed battery scooter designed for short commutes. Bookings for both scooters will begin on January 1, 2025, with deliveries starting in February. The price of the scooter has not been announced yet.

TVS ranked third with sales of 305,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 6.34% from 287,000 units in November 2023. But it fell 21.84% month-on-month. At the recent MotoSoul event, TVS showcased the updated Ronin and the new RT-XD4 engine.

Bajaj

Bajaj retained the fourth position with sales of 2.04 lakh units. Compared with 219,000 vehicles in November 2023, it decreased by 6.86% year-on-year. The month-on-month decrease was even more significant, at 20.43%.

Bajaj recently cut the price of its first CNG bike, the Freedom 125, by Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000. The bike is now priced at Rs 89,997 for the base Drum model and Rs 95,002 for the mid-spec Drum LED model. The price of the high-end Disc LED model remains unchanged at Rs 1.10 lakh. These are ex-showroom figures.

Suzuki was ranked fifth in November 2024 with 78,333 units of the two-wheeler brand sold. Compared to November 2023 sales of 73,135 units, this represents an increase of 7.11%. However, the company’s sales fell by 25.35% compared to October 2024’s sales of 105,000 units.
