Toyota Tacoma Transmission Problem: T-SB-0076-24 Published

September 30, 2024 — Toyota Tacoma Transmission issues have resulted in some 2024 Toyota Tacoma trucks requiring free automatic transmission and torque converter replacement Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) T-SB- 0076-24.

According to Toyota, some 2024 Tacomas may illuminate a warning light, setting one or more of the following diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs):

• P07407F – Torque Converter Clutch Actuator Stuck

• P079571 – Pressure Control Solenoid Valve “C” Actuator Stuck

• PO8BA71 – Pressure control solenoid valve “L” actuator stuck

• P271371 – Pressure Control Solenoid Valve “D” Actuator Stuck

• P280771 – Pressure Control Solenoid Valve “G” Actuator Stuck

• P281671 – Pressure Control Solenoid Valve “H” Actuator Stuck

Toyota says that if none of the above DTCs are present, TSB will not apply even if the malfunction warning light is activated.

Because the truck is covered by Toyota’s 60-month/60,000-mile powertrain warranty, transmission and torque converter replacement and dealer labor will be covered.

The current TSB is only available on 2024 Toyota Tacoma trucks equipped with automatic transmissions.
