Earlier this year, the lives of Tony Barras’ friends and family were turned upside down when he was diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer in May. What followed was a difficult and heartbreaking journey for Tony in the face of this serious challenge.

Barras is a well-known figure in the trade show industry, having served as Vice President of Labor at EWI Worldwide/Term Group for 27 years. His leadership and expertise in production management, event management, and team building have made him a respected professional in the field. Prior to joining EWI, Barras served as Director of Exhibit Services at GES Exposition Services, further solidifying his influence on the industry.

Despite four surgeries, radiation, physical therapy and numerous setbacks, Barras has shown remarkable resilience. Now that he is home and continuing his chemotherapy treatments, he remains steadfast in his fight against the disease.

To support Barras’s fight, the community has rallied behind him and his family. A GoFundMe campaign organized to help with his medical expenses has raised $13,755 as of August 29, with 42 generous donations contributing toward the $50,000 goal. This support has been a source of strength for Barras and his loved ones, highlighting the impact he had on those around him.

As Barras continues his journey, his friends and family remain by his side, hopeful about his recovery and inspired by his courage.
