TVS Apache RTX 310 ADV leaked

Apache RTX 310 ADV from TVS will come with overload of features, gadgets, technology and wide range of electronic riding aids

TVS Motor, one of India’s leading 2W and 3W car manufacturers, is expanding its product portfolio to include ADV products. The company is yet to launch the ADV, which will reportedly be positioned on the TVS-BMW 310 platform. Recent developments suggest that the motorcycle is in its final testing stages and could be launched in 2025.

The company has an extensive range of quality bicycles under the Apache and Ronin brands. TVS showcased a Scrambler version of the Ronin called the Ronin SCR and may have intentions of launching the product as the design is also patented. Currently, ADVs like Royal Enfield Himalayan and KTM 390 Adventure are popular.

New developments in the TVS camp suggest that the company is eyeing an ADV motorcycle based on the 310 platform. A recent report suggested that a 300cc ADV motorcycle has been spied testing and is in the final stages of testing, with the production model reportedly set to be launched by mid-2025.

The report also attached a clip of what looks like TVS’s ADV motorcycle. This can be taken from an internal presentation of TVS. From the silhouette, one can deduce that TVS is building a proper adventure tourer, with a half fairing and a high windshield to protect the rider from the gusting winds.

What can we expect?

These developments require us to speculate on what to expect from this upcoming motorcycle. First, we think TVS may position it under the Apache brand and use the already trademarked “Apache RTX” name. According to the company’s strategy, RR is a super sports car, RTR is a street fighter, and RTX may be an adventure tourer.

Secondly, we can speculate on what components TVS might offer for this bike. Leaked images suggest there could be 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoked wheels with tubeless tires, fully adjustable suspension (front compression and rebound, rear rebound and preload) and end straps There are disc brakes with switchable dual-channel ABS.

As far as features are concerned, TVS is most likely to equip this motorcycle with electronics and features. We can expect a sophisticated IMU with cruise control, cornering control, traction control, ABS mode and more. We can see ventilated seats for the rider and pillion as well as a TFT instrument cluster with various functions such as music control and navigation.

In terms of powertrain, the same 310cc reverse-tilt single-cylinder liquid-cooled DOHC 4V unit is likely to power the upcoming TVS Apache RTX 310 ADV. The 450cc twin-cylinder engine that recently debuted in the BMW F 450 GS concept is highly unlikely. It has the same performance figures as the recently launched Apache RR 310, 37.5 bhp and 29 Nm, mated to a 6-speed gearbox, slipper clutch and bi-directional quick shifter.
