TVS Motor Company’s October sales increased by 13% year-on-year;

TVS’ overall sales in the festive month of October 2024 were 4.89 lakh units, a 13% increase from 4.35 lakh units in the previous year. This is an increase of 1.35% compared to the sales of 4,82,495 units in September this year. The company’s two-wheeler market sales grew by 14%, with sales reaching 4.78 lakh units. Sales volume of 2W in the domestic market increased by 13% to 390,000 units. Looking at market segments, motorcycle sales in October 2024 were 230,000 units, compared with 202,000 units in the same period last year. This resulted in a year-on-year growth of 14%. TVS Sales October 2024

In October, the company’s electric vehicle (EV) sales reached 29,308 units, an increase of 45% from 20,153 units in the previous year. From 87,952 units sold in October 2023 to 95,708 units sold in October 2024, TVS’s exports surged by 9%. However, 2W shipments reached 87,670 units, a year-on-year increase of 16%.

Other highlights

TVS launched a new variant of the Raider 125 in India last month to mark the scooter’s sales milestone of one million units. The scooter is called iGo and retails at Rs 98,389 (ex-showroom). It includes iGo assist technology, which provides an acceleration boost and an additional 0.55Nm of torque.

The new TVS Raider iGO is powered by the same 124.8cc single-cylinder air/oil-cooled engine connected to a five-speed gearbox. While power output remains unchanged at 11.2bhp at 7,500rpm, torque output is now 11.75Nm at 6,000rpm. According to TVS, the new model will be 10% more fuel efficient than other models.

The Raider iGo sits between the split-seat model (Rs 97,704) and the Super Squad version (Rs 1.01 lakh). These are ex-showroom prices. Similar to the split-seat model, the iGo comes with an LCD instrument panel with TVS SmartXonnect, which enables customers to access notifications, voice assistance and route navigation, among other linked features.
