TVS sales details in August 2024

TVS 2W sales in the domestic market increased by 12.61% year-on-year, with all models except Raider and Apache 310 achieving significant growth

TVS Motor Company’s monthly sales in August 2024 stood at 2,88,983 units, up 12.61% year-on-year, compared to 2,56,619 units sold in August 2023. Last month, sales of most models in the company’s portfolio ended on a positive note, while demand for Raider and Apache 310 models declined significantly. The monthly sales also increased by 13.79% over the 2,53,971 units sold in July 2024.

TVS sales breakdown by August 2024 – New Jupiter boosts

TVS performed well in August 2024 with domestic sales increasing by 12.61% YoY and 13.79% MoM. Sales in August 2024 increased from 2,56,619 units to 2,88,983 units. MoM sales were also higher than July 2024’s 2,53,971 units. Sales increased by 32,364 units and 35,012 units compared to August 2023 and July 2024, respectively.

The newly launched 2024 TVS Jupiter topped the list with a share of 30.91% and sold 89,327 units in the country. It registered a year-on-year growth of 27.49% with sales increasing by 19,263 units compared to 70,065 units sold in August 2023. The monthly sales of Jupiter also increased by 19.64% compared to 74,663 units sold in July 2024. The TVS Jupiter was also the second best-selling scooter after the Honda Activa last month.

The second place went to the TVS XL, the company’s only model in the moped segment. Sales of the vehicle grew 21.81% year-on-year and 18.35% month-on-month to 44,456 units. Thanks to the improved sales, the share percentage also improved from 14.79% month-on-month to 15.38%. TVS Ntorq sold 33,201 units last month, a 15.33% year-on-year increase from 28,787 units in August 2023. Month-on-month sales also increased by 23.75% from 26,829 units in July 2024. The company’s share in the domestic portfolio also improved from 10.56% month-on-month to 11.49%.

TVS Apache sold 30,038 units last month, a year-on-year growth of 59.24%, the highest growth among any other model in this list. August 2023 sales were 18,863 units, while month-on-month sales were down 2.10% from July 2024 sales of 30,681 units.

TVS Raider sales down – new model launched

It is followed by the Raider, whose sales declined by 36.46% year-on-year to 26,923 units from 42,375 units in August 2023, while month-on-month sales increased by 9.68% from 24,547 units in July 2024. Ahead of the festive season in India, TVS has reduced the entry price of the Raider 125 by Rs 10,000. The drum brake version of the TVS Raider 125 is now priced at Rs 84,869 (ex-showroom).

TVS iQube sales increased by 1.23% YoY and 14.80% MoM to 24,181 units. TVS Sport followed closely behind with sales increasing by 11.68% YoY and 18.26% MoM to 14,316 units. TVS Radeon sales were 11,266 units last month, up 11.05% YoY and 7.19% MoM.

On the sales chart, TVS Zest (9,268 units), Star City (3,846 units) and Ronin (2,029 units) all achieved year-on-year growth, but Zest and Star City declined month-on-month. Apache 310 (132 units) saw a sharp decline of 46.12% compared to 245 units sold in August 2023, but increased by more than 325.81% compared to only 31 units sold in July 2024.
