At the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025, Hyundai Motor India will showcase its two upcoming electric SUVs – Creta EV and Ioniq 9. Hyundai Creta EV prices will also be announced at the event. It will directly compete with the Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV and Maruti e-Vitara to be launched soon. Hyundai Ioniq 9 is the brand’s new flagship SUV based on the E-GMP modular pure electric architecture. The electric car will first be launched in local markets such as South Korea and North America in the first half of 2025. As of now, there is no official news about its arrival in India.
Here’s a quick overview of Hyundai’s two upcoming electric SUVs:
Hyundai Creta electric car
The powertrain details of the Hyundai Creta EV are yet to be revealed. However, the electric SUV is reportedly powered by a 45kWh battery and a single-motor setup that delivers 138bhp of maximum power and 255Nm of torque. In terms of cruising range, it is expected to be able to travel more than 350 kilometers on a single charge. Compared to its main rival Tata Curvv EV Crete electric cars The power will be reduced and the range will be shorter. Spy photos show that the new Hyundai electric SUV will feature a closed front grille, revised front and rear bumpers, and newly designed alloy wheels. Some elements unique to electric vehicles can also be seen in the car. The Hyundai Creta EV will feature a new round three-spoke steering wheel and seat upholstery with ‘CRETA’ embossing.
Hyundai Ioniq 9
The Hyundai Ioniq 9 comes with a 110.3kWh lithium-ion battery pack and two drivetrain setups – RWD and AWD. There are two models – long-range and high-performance. The long-range version with rear-wheel drive delivers 218PS of maximum power and 350Nm of torque, and promises a WLTP claimed range of 620km. The same model equipped with the AWD system offers 95PS (front axle)/218PS (rear axle) and 255Nm (front axle)/350Nm (rear axle). The Performance AWD version is good enough to deliver 218PS (front/rear axle) and 350Nm of torque.
This modern electric SUV has 400V and 800V charging capabilities and also supports V2L (vehicle to load) functionality. Hyundai Ioniq 9 is available in two seating arrangements – 6-seater and 7-seater. Its key features include a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 12-inch digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, roof-mounted air conditioning vents, 10 airbags, ADAS with multiple cameras and sensors, and more.
