Dear colleagues and dear friends:
UFI launches new ‘Exhibition Essentials’ education program in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. We held the first UFI Americas Conference in Monterrey, Mexico. No. 3RD Asia CEO Summit held in Singapore. Sustainable Events Summit in New York City Powered by UFI – I must admit that even as President of UFI, I sometimes struggle to keep up with the flow of news and updates that the team has shared with me over the past few weeks.
This actually made me stop and think about the importance of the UFI message – the monthly membership update you are reading now. We’re always focused on projects – events, research, education and more. But it is also important that we communicate well about these projects and share results, experiences and insights. So I would like to express my gratitude today to the UFI MarComs team for their efforts in providing all these timely summaries and updates through all relevant channels!
Sometimes, UFI Info even features “breaking news” – like today. Allow me to share that we can report on the search for UFI’s next CEO. After reviewing, interviewing and vetting outstanding candidates from both outside and within the organization, we have selected Chris Skeith to succeed Kai in January 2025.
Chris has been CEO of AEO UK since 2014. He also has a long record with the UFI, serving as Chairman of the Association’s Committee for six years and serving as a member of the UFI Executive Committee during this period. Year also. He knows UFI and the UFI team very well, as well as our industry, and we are confident that he will fit well into our UFI culture and team. I would like to congratulate and welcome Chris, and I would like to thank all my colleagues in the UFI Trio and Executive Committee and the UFI Management for staying up late over the past few weeks – which has allowed us to, in true UFI fashion, work on this important issue Take action quickly and hard.
But I want to end in true UFI fashion with an update on Cologne and our Global Congress. There we will discuss how to turn the changes we face into opportunities and opportunities. In order to understand these changes, we have to make sure we “get” them. That’s why I was so excited when Kai told me that we would be welcoming Anna Roslin to the stage in Cologne. Together with the late Hans Rosling and Ola Rosling, she founded the “Gapminder” foundation, dedicated to the use and understanding of social, economic and environmental issues at local, national and global levels Development statistics and other information. Things that sound “dry” are not, I can personally vouch for that. If you haven’t signed up for Cologne yet, sign up now.
your,
Jeff Dickinson, UFI President
