Ultraviolette F77 MACH 2 breaks new ground around the world

The Ultraviolette F77 MACH 2 has become the first Indian electric motorcycle to receive global certification under United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) regulations. This certification marks an important step in the brand’s journey, as the F77 MACH 2 will now be launched in more than 40 countries, including the highly competitive European market.

The F77 MACH 2 is now approved for road use under category L3e and will be available to A1 and A2 license holders across Europe. The motorcycle, with an initial price of 9,990 euros, is designed to meet global demand for high-performance electric motorcycles. Ultraviolette plans to expand its reach by shipping initially to Germany and Türkiye, followed by a Europe-wide rollout. The company will also showcase its products at the upcoming EICMA event in Milan, Italy, November 5-10.

Milestone achievement for electric vehicles in India

Narayan Subramaniam, CEO and Co-Founder of Ultraviolette said: “Receiving this international certification is a landmark moment for us as it opens the door to a larger global audience. This certification is not only a regulatory milestone , and reflects our ongoing pursuit of world-class standards in design-led performance.”

The UNECE certification clears the way for the F77 MACH 2 to be sold in European countries, a first for an Indian electric motorcycle. This strategic expansion is a major move for Ultraviolette to enter the highly competitive European high-performance motorcycle market. With the EU being a hub for motorcycle enthusiasts, the move signals the company’s intention to compete with global names.

Government recognition and expansion plans

Ultraviolette’s export of F77 MACH 2 has also received strong support from government officials. The export to Europe was announced by Hon’ble Shri HD Kumaraswamy, Minister of Heavy Industries of Karnataka and Hon’ble Shri MB Patil, Minister of Industries and Commerce of Karnataka. The latter praised Ultraviolette as the “Tesla of India” and recognized its pioneering role in the field of electric vehicles in India.

Ultraviolette plans to showcase the F77 MACH 2 at EICMA 2024, positioning itself as a strong contender in the global electric vehicle market. The company believes the F77 MACH 2 will resonate with European consumers who prioritize innovation, performance and environmental awareness.
