A learner driver has been charged with multiple offences after he was pulled over without a guardian and with three children in the car who were not properly restrained.
Nepean Highway Patrol officers stopped the Honda Odyssey for a random inspection and found the child seat was not secured to the mounting point as required, was improperly secured and was free to move.
The 28-year-old showed police her expired overseas driver’s licence, but further checks revealed she held a NSW learner’s licence, which requires a fully licensed driver as a supervisor.
She was also found to be driving without L plates, another requirement for a driver’s licence.

Police issued the woman with several infringement notices, including: driving without a licence, failing to display L plates, carrying three passengers who were not wearing seatbelts and driving without a licence.
In addition to the penalty points for these offences, her licence was suspended on the spot for three months.
Thankfully, it is understood that all three children are safe and sound.
It’s a timely reminder for parents to properly secure their child’s car seat, which can be professionally installed for less than $50.
